Hello friends!

I’m not sure how you feel, but September has come and gone SO fast. I am still spinning from it all! But the ‘ber months are here now, and that is exciting! As much as I love summer, there is a coziness to fall that we simply cannot deny.

At the beginning of September, I had the privilege of meeting another Bartlett Senior, Nessa. Her dream senior session included a beachy background. So we set our sights on Lake Michigan. Specifically Promontory Point in Chicago.

It was Labor Day weekend, the weather was beautiful, and the park was packed with friends and families celebrating the long weekend. There was also a wind advisory.

OK. A crowded park + tons of wind. Mission accepted. Let’s make Nessa look like she’s the only one here!

The wind was actually the bigger hurdle. Her perfect tresses were NOT anticipating the speed of the Windy City! In between gusts, we did our best—and honestly, I think the wind ended up adding a little extra magic to her session.

As the waves crashed onto the rocky shore, Nessa really shined. A natural beauty. She has it all! Beauty, brains and a go with flow attitude anyone would admire. Plus, add Varsity Cheer to her resume! Girl has a plan! In the fall, Nessa plans to study Neurophysiology! She explains below:

“I want to study neuropsychology at Western Michigan while doing the study aboard program – about twelve years of full study to become a licensed neuropsychologist and work in a hospital helping kids or anyone but after four I plan to be a behavioral technician at a hospital with my bachelors degree.”

Go. Get. Em. Nessa. Love her determination!

As we explored the park, we couldn’t help but notice all of the people enjoying the day. Everyone was feeling it—the beautiful location, the gorgeous weather, and the freedom of a three-day weekend. There was just something special about being there.

Nessa’s senior year is here! Her future so bright and exciting! As are all the fun school events, the last HoCo, the final Friday night lights, all the laughs, the little moments you will always remember . Those memories will last a lifetime. Even when all the longtime friends set foot on their own pathways next fall, these friendships will always have a place in their hearts. I met many of Nessa’s friends in other senior sessions this year. Her mom explaining how far back these friendships go. Grammar school buds. Years of memories. Irreplaceable bonds.

Speaking of Nessa’s mom, she made her these adorable “Senior Year Jeans” LOVE this trend. Her mom’s crafty, behind the scenes posts, caught my attention and are glimpse of the love she pours into her kids and will shape how they will remember these important events in their lives. Great work, mom! I see you!

The sun set even faster than we could have imagined, and soon the lights of the city began to dress the drive home. Chicago really is a beautiful place, and I’m so glad Nessa chose it for her senior session. We explored somewhere new, took in the stunning shoreline, battled the wind, and captured a little piece of this season of her life.

Nessa, I hope your senior year is everything you’ve dreamed it would be. Keep that beautiful go-with-the-flow attitude, chase those BIG dreams, and enjoy every minute of the adventure ahead!

Until next time,

Renee
