Hello! How about this fall season we are experiencing?! It has been glorious! I hope you have been enjoying it as much as me….

Looking back on this 2026 season, I have met so many great clients. Many of them, high school seniors. It has been such an honor to get to know all of these great kids! They are friends of friends, a tight knit group of kids who have known each other for most of their lives. Just so grateful how they all wanted senior pics done this year! I hope they all enjoy these photos for years to come.

Alonzo saw his buddies’ sessions pop up on Instagram, he decided he needed a session of his own. And I’m so glad he did!

We met on a gorgeous mid-September evening at St. James Farm. This beautiful DuPage County Forest Preserve has so much to offer, from winding trails and historic barns to art and sculptures tucked throughout the property. It’s no surprise that photographers and their clients love this spot! We were lucky enough to have much of the park to ourselves that evening, giving us plenty of time to explore and find just the right locations.

Alonzo is such a great kid! He was kind, grateful and nice to get to know. His mother just as sweet. We chatted about the Bartlett Crew, his sister’s next chapter at UofI and the recent football game they attended as a family to visit her. When Alonzo has free time, he is working! During the summer a camp counselor and even during school, he works several hours a week as an after school leader. His commitment to helping others very apparent as we talked.

Alonzo also mentioned that he’d like to study mechanical engineering after graduation. Now, I’m going to take a guess that math is one of his stronger subjects! There’s something about his calm demeanor that makes me think he’d be the kind of person who could look at a problem, analyze it, and figure out a solution without breaking a sweat. Sounds like a pretty good fit to me!

As quickly as these months go, the amount of time left to embrace senior year diminishes with each day. You do not need to be a mathematician to realize that time flies! The last HoCo come and gone. Friday night lights coming to close. And how about mom?! Both of her kids out of the house? Away at school. Changes for everyone. Thinking of you too, mom!

I keep hearing the Noah Kahn song in my head. “Oh, my, my, what a time to be alive”

It really is. Being a high school senior is such a time in your life! Your future belongs you, there are many roads to travel, the options seem endless. What a time to be alive.

Embrace each day, cherish these memories with all your friends. Think long and hard what comes next. But enjoy the journey! There is so much to look forward to! I know that Alonzo has such a bright future ahead!

Congratulations on your senior year, Alonzo! Enjoy every minute!

Until next time.
